Take note of any information that comes to you along with the image, such as impressions, emotions, or messages, and either write them down or speak them out loud.

use intention, draw and leverage search engines after drawing faces, using images to gain validation.

Acknowledge and appreciate any validation or positive feedback you receive, whether it's from others who recognize the resemblance in your drawings or from your own sense of progress.

Maintain a journal or progress log to document your experiences, noting your personal growth, improvement, and how you feel throughout the process. This will help track your development and provide valuable insights.

Make your intention clear

It is my intention to:

Draw a portrait of a loved one who is deceased in the spirit world for [name the person by name for whom you are drawing], or for the group of people here tonight, as appropriate.

Receive information about the person, so I can validate the connection and interpret helpful messages, memories, or advice for your highest good.

By setting this clear intention, I open myself to the energy and guidance from the spirit world, aiming to create a meaningful and accurate portrait that brings comfort, validation, and valuable insights to those involved.

6 faces exercise

Divide your page into six sections.

Set the intention to draw six faces of people in spirit, spend only a few seconds on each face before moving on to the next one.

Repeat the process, coming back to work on each face again for a few seconds.

Continue this cycle, going over and over until all the faces are completed.

Use the side of the pastel for the initial allowing stage using pale shades and a charcoal pencil for the exploring stage; when you outline what you can see that has come through.

Watch the video below for a demonstration of how these faces were done.

During this exercise, it is important to let go of attachment and be lighthearted. The appearance of the faces is not the focus; the goal is to practice giving up control and allowing the energy to guide your drawings. Have fun with it and enjoy the process! Remember, the intention is to develop your connection and trust in the spirit world rather than achieving perfect drawings.

Practice portraits for strangers & find them online

It is my intention to:

Draw a portrait of someone who is deceased in the spirit world to enhance my practice.

Receive information about the person so that I can search online and find them within ten minutes.

Approach this activity with a sense of enjoyment and lightheartedness.

Setting clear intentions helps to focus your energy and establish the purpose of your drawing. By stating your intention, you create a framework for your practice and invite the spiritual connection you seek. Remember to maintain an open and receptive mindset as you engage in the drawing process.

Have fun!

*Be sure to cleanse and close your chakras when you have finished.
